Columbus Dispatch Features Rocketing Systems and Mississippi Seed Fund

Tyler Jones at the Columbus Dispatch recently covered our $100,000 seed fund award to Rocketing Systems, the up-and-coming e-commerce marketing company based in Starkville and run by recent Mississippi State University grads.

Buzzbassador is a customer relationship management platform for companies to supervise their influencers or brand ambassadors. It tracks sales, commission payouts, email communication, and more, in just a few clicks. Businesses using the software can auto-generate analytics and sales reports while managing the company influencers’ commissions and schedules in one place.

Rocketing Systems’ Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Shelby Baldwin told the Columbus Dispatch that Buzzbassador has thousands of worldwide paying customers, but with the help of the Mississippi Seed Fund, “we anticipate more users and larger business partners.”

Baldwin, along with classmates CEO Calvin Waddy and COO Brandon Johns, created the idea for Rocketing Systems at Mississippi State University Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach in 2019. It began as an online clothing store but transformed into the retailer automation software it is today.

Lindsey Benefield, Innovate Mississippi’s investment manager, told the Dispatch that the diverse team at Rocketing Systems—and their tenacious spirit—is what has made the young startup so successful. “They are fantastic to work with,” Benefield said. “I think [Rocketing Systems] is an inspiration to all young adults looking to start their own businesses. They came together as three college students with one idea and then pivoted to a completely different direction, and now they are having huge success and getting investor attention.”

We’re grateful to the Columbus Dispatch and Tyler Jones for the wonderful coverage of one our of exciting client companies at Innovate Mississippi. Read the full article.
