Big thanks to Roslyn Anderson and the WLBT team for shining a spotlight on Mississippi’s rising entrepreneurs at The Bean Path’s recent pitch competition. The competition offered two tracks “Innovation and Technology” and “Small and Diverse Business.” The Tech & Innovation track focused on businesses that could be high-growth companies and are likely to seek equity financing. The Lifestyle category focused on businesses that are more local in nature and likely to be debt-financed or “bootstapped.”
Omar Morris, a data an AI engineer and founder of Eversol Solar, took home First Place in the Innovation and Technology category with a mobile solar-powered energy system. His bold idea is to take a single room in your house “off the grid” and allow it to be solar-powered.
Tiffany Jones of Butta Scrub Natural Skin Care claimed First Place in the Small and Diverse Business category. Based in Byram, she’s on a mission to grow her business by bringing her skin care products directly to customers with a mobile shopping experience.
We’re proud to support events like this that showcase the talent and hustle happening right here in Mississippi. Thanks again to Roslyn and WLBT for helping us share these stories with the world!
