Building Your Brand? Here’s How It’s Done In Mississippi

The two coasts don’t hold a monopoly, however, when it comes to figuring out the best ways to build your brand via Twitter, Facebook and the like. Fascinating new ideas can surface anywhere — Mississippi included.

Sheer curiosity led me earlier this month to Ridgeland, Miss., where entrepreneur Joe Stradinger has set up EdgeTheory, a company that creates social-media content for a vast range of businesses. Never mind Mississippi’s bleak showing in any national ranking of states’ per-capita income, economic opportunities, and the like. Stradinger — like any gung-ho entrepreneur — is quick to offer up reasons why his home state is actually the ideal incubation point for social-media campaigns.
