Josh Mabus — Melting ice and the lifestyle life cycle

By Josh Mabus, Mississippi Business Journal, Feature Article, August 12, 2016.  Yeti isn’t the coldest cup on the planet anymore. At least that’s the claim of a video comparing the product to its store-brand brethren.

The folks at AL.com did an unofficial ice retention test comparing Yeti, Ozark Trail and Orca stainless steel vacuum-sealed tumblers, and the results have been making the rounds.

In this test, the Ozark Trail (which retails for $9.74 at Walmart) held its ice for 56 hours and 30 minutes, outlasting the Yeti tumbler (a $40 value) by 20 minutes. The ice in the midrange Orca melted at 44 hours and 30 minutes.
