Startup Weekend Jackson will be Friday through Sunday at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson.
Presented by Baker Donelson and organized by Innovate Mississippi, Startup Weekend Jackson is a 54-hour event in which entrepreneurs, programmers, coders, developers and other business-minded individuals come together for a weekend of company creation.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will pitch their business proposals to participants, who will vote for the most promising 10 to 15 ideas. Participants then divide into small teams and spend the weekend focusing on a single business idea. A panel of seasoned professionals will evaluate each team’s startup and their chances of real-world success. The top three teams will receive in-kind prizes from local service providers and sponsors.
