Innovate Mississippi is pleased to announce that Illuminations Literacy Solutions, Inc. (VTO Reading) has successfully closed its nearly $500,000 seed funding round, marking another win for both the startup itself and Mississippi’s growing innovation ecosystem.
The investment was anchored by the Bulldog Angel Network and InvestMS, alongside private matching investors including the Mississippi Angel Fund (MAF) and several individual angel investors.
Founded by Leta Palmiter, VTO Reading is an AI-powered literacy platform that helps educators identify a student’s reading challenges through voice and speech analysis, enabling earlier intervention and better outcomes for students.
Prior to raising this round, Palmiter participated in Innovate Mississippi’s Fall 2025 CoBuilders Accelerator, where she strengthened the company’s investor readiness, refined its growth strategy, and prepared for fundraising.
The financing, structured as a Series 2026-A Convertible Note, will support continued commercialization of the platform, product development, and market expansion.
